Central Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency continues to make various efforts in maintaining the region as rabies-free area. One of them is to carry out rabies vaccination service for animals that potential to transmit rabies (HPR) regularly.

Recently, free rabies vaccination is held using drive thru method at Jakarta KPKP Agency Office yard on Jl. Gunung Sahari, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, from Monday (9/27) to Tuesday (9/28).

Central Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head, Penty Yunesi Pusyastuti said, drive thru rabies vaccination service at KPKP Agency Office is carried out to commemorate World Rabies Day on every September 28. Residents who want to take a part in this activity must register online via Central Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Public Relation and then register directly at the location.

"Many people have come since morning. Those who come by vehicle just need to wait in their vehicle. Our vet team will inject the vaccine to their pets," she said during the vaccination program, Monday (9/28).

Overall, her side had vaccinated 86 animals today, consisting of 20 dogs and 66 cats. This service was assisted by four veterinarians; one from Central Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency, one from Jakarta KPKP Agency, and two others from Gloriouz Pet.

Retno (40), Kebon Jeruk resident, West Jakarta admitted, she was invited by her friend to take her pets for rabies vaccination in the location.

"I was invited by a friend to take my pets for rabies vaccination in here. Because it is free, so we must take advantage of it, moreover it is provided by government. In this activity, I also get one pack of pet food for free," she conveyed.
